WARNING! This page contains spoilers about the challenges chosen when finishing the game by building the palace.

On finishing a game, you can pick one challenge to make the next run harder, but giving you extra reputation on finishing the palaces. Each challenge gives a bonus for finishing a certain palace, so to get all reputation you need to complete all palaces. Each bonus can only be received once. After building all palaces the challenge is marked as finished and the used difficulty level is saved for it, so you can beat your own record in the future.

While for the normal bonus the difficulty level isn't important, if you play the ironman mode by choosing no custodians, you can get even more reputation depending on the chosen difficulty level. If you finish an ironman game on a higher difficulty level after beating it with a lower one, you only get the difference, so beating is on very hard will give you all bonuses in one run.
